*He looks back at the young girl, a quiet sadness in his eyes. He is slow to answer, but when he does he turns and walks slowly over to her, reluctantly welcoming company* I didn't realize I was that obvious.
*He leans against the rail of the porch, looking down at her* I'm afraid I don't like myself very much tonight. *he gives a soft smile and changes the topic* You have very unusual tresses. How do you come by them?

-She tilts her head- Many that come here seem so sad. Many because my Mama died having me. -she grins at his comment about her hair- Gift of my mother, 'tis the blue dragoness in me, I have blue wings too but dun have them out as it was to hot in the kitchen.

I'm told that...but I didnae know her -she sighs then- she died having me. Left me this huge Tavern and Inn to take care of and it's alot to learn -she sips her water- Well I hope your sadness passes Mister. There just seems to be to much of it around of late.

Cephilia was me best friend bless her soul. She took me in when I was with child meself and she gave me a job and took care of me and me son. The least I k'an do ta return her kindness is be helpin' out with her daughter as she nae be havin' a mum now. Cephilia passed on months ago now and left behind the lass.
-she smiles- but nae be talkin' bout that overly much as Laurana is nae sad about it.

Either that, or people are overly reminded of her mother when they see her, and pass their sadness on to her.

Oh does she now? -she grins and puffs up at that- Well I be doin' my best ta treat her fair. An' aye many knew her mum that be comin' ta stay here and be missin' Miss Cephilia but they k'an still visit her in spirit at least at her grave out back. Her Daddy and boyfriend been buried her out back thought she'd be likin' it better there -she nods- but it be better ta rejoice in the life she brought inta the world, nae the one that be passin' from it.

-she walks around the counter and leads him through the kitchen out the back door towards the stables, pointing out the various pens for the animals and telling him where the feed for each was, then entered the stables and walked into an empty stall with a pitchfork- Ye gotta take out this dirty hay here and put in fresh so the stables dun get ta stinkin' cause we stable the guests animals too nae just ours.
