The Books by Roger Zelazny
The chronicles of Amber were written by Roger Zelazny. He is, without a doubt, my favorite author. Much to my dismay, he is now deceased. The Amber stories are divided into two series, or in fact, two stories. The original or "classic" Amber is Corwin's tale. The second series, written much later, follows the story of Corwin's son, Merlin. Like most Amber Rpg's, the Shadows of Desire campaign does not make use of the second series, diverging from the original before Merlin's story takes place. The books remain well worth reading.
