Eldorin watched the progressing devastation of the realm, and he too was slowly dying, growing weaker and weaker as Corbin himself drew closer and closer to death. In an effort of initiative beyond Corbin’s willing, Eldorin left Eidolon and came to him, beseeching Corbin to
believe. Perhaps it was the presence of the glaive - a very real item hidden within the realm - that gave Eldorin the strength to move on his own. Or, perhaps it was because others had seen him and believed in his reality. Nevertheless, regardless of the reason, he came.
By that time, Corbin had been found, and Eliza had underestimated Corbin's friends. Baffled at first, they had seen stranger things than this, and with Corbin's disappearance the old man wasn't hard to believe. But a solution was not so easily gained. Tearfully, Corbin explained to Eldorin that his powers were gone, that all was lost and he too would die very soon. When even Merloch's and Gem's magic failed to heal him, they realized that it was Corbin's own despair that was destroying him. With Eldorin's help, the three slowly covinced Corbin that his powers had returned - a fact confirmed by Eldorin’s return to health the moment Corbin believed. Eidolon quickly stabilized, though much of the damage in Eidolon remained to be cleaned up. Eldorin returned to Eidolon to tend to its needs while Corbin was returned to Draegon within the safety of the Vast Night Kingdom to complete his own recovery.
