Corbin Ramsay is the son of three individuals - Draegon (Lord of the Vast Night Kingdom), Jarred Ramsay, and Isabella, one of Draegon's many, many wives. Although Corbin was initially conceived by Isabella, Draegon used a variation of his ability to absorb bloodlines to cause Jarred to 'absorb' the newly conceived fetus. This created a genuine relationship between Corbin and all three of his parents.
More intriguing than his unusual birth, however, is who Corbin really is. Though the thought was an early one in Jarred's mind, the fact was overlooked and denied for some time. Harsh events, however, brought the truth home with chilling conviction. Corbin is, in fact, the reincarnation of Jarred's brother, Cordell Ramsay.
No one but Draegon knows how this feat was accomplished, and he has kept silent. All Jarred was able to learn was that Draegon gained access to Cordell's spirit through his bond with Gem Bluestone, and the fact that Cordell's spirit had been released within Gem's forest. How became academic - it had been done.
Corbin is the first male Ramsay to possess magic, and though his psychic powers are noticeably weaker than those of his uncles, his magic takes on a decidedly mental flavor. His is the power of imagination.
